In 2020, businesses around the world faced significant restrictions of various kinds due to the pandemic.
In this article, I would like to specify all the moments that together form all the specifics that must be taken into account when working with documents of Cypriot companies for the accreditation of a branch or representative office in Russia. For these companies, the set of documents will differ slightly from the standard one (for example, four certificates instead of one reference). We will scrutinise why it is necessary to pay special attention to stamps and legalisation, and also you will find out why you may need documents from other companies, when setting up a branch or representative office.
To open branches and representative offices in Russia, many foreign companies are striving to independently prepare the entire set of documents. Some of these companies obtain refusals of accreditation, because there are always nuances that are either not paid attention to or ignored in preparation.

There are new services on the websites of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (CCI) and the Federal Tax Service. In the future they will be able to optimise the interaction of applicants and employees of the Chamber of Commerce and the tax service.
To work in a Branch/Representative Office of a foreign company a foreign employee should follow the procedure of personal accreditation, which is provided by the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Russian Federation (hereinafter — «CCI»). The rules of personal accreditation are fixed in the Appendix 1 to the Order of the CCI No. 44 of June 8, 2015. Certificate of a personal accreditation is the document that confirms the successful procedure.
